Gumball Machine

Collaged Gumball Machine

This Wayne Thiebaud (Tee-boh) inspired gumball machine will help us learn about how artists use actual and implied texture in their artwork. We will create a background using the implied texture of a brick wall and actual texture in the gumballs themselves.

Collaged Gumball Machine

Wayne Thiebaud (TEE-boh) is a Pop Artist who paints everyday things like hot dogs, cakes, pies, ice cream, and paint cans. Below are some examples of his work.

Things you will need

As a teacher, I have found that gathering your supplies and resources before starting your art project makes creating art so much more fun.

The following are some ideas for this project I hope you will find helpful.

Idea one: Gather the supplies listed on the supply list.

Idea two: Use poster board or card stock to print the templates on. Younger children find tracing around a thicker paper easier than tracing around copy paper.

Idea three: Save your bigger scrapes of paper for future art projects!

Idea four: Print out Gumball Template 1 Here

Project Time

Before we start a project it is always a good plan to review the supplies and other things that may be needed. You do not want to get into the project only to learn that you do not have that one essential item. Let’s review now, Click here..
