Thank you cards using tangles
I’m creating thank you cards for several of my students and their parents. Toward the end of the school year, they gave me gifts for teacher appreciation and I wanted to send them a little note that shows how much that means to me. What better way for an art teacher to thank someone than to give a piece of art. So, thank you cards it is.
I took a 9 x 12-inch piece of watercolor paper and cut it in half making a 6 x 9-inch paper. I folded that in half making the folded dimensions 4.5 x 6 inch. Using a printer, I found fonts I liked and printed out the word Thank You. I traced that onto the center of the card front. To give the words thank you some dimension I filled them in with a black Glaze Gelly Roll pen. When that dries it is raised off the paper some. Almost like embossing.
I use the tangle Hollibaugh to tangle the around the box with the lettering. A wet on wet technique was used to watercolor the spaces between the Hollibaugh. I used a Sparkle Pop pen to give it some bling on the rectangle around the words.
I used the tangle Poke Leaf to decorate the interior of the card and then used the same watercolors to paint them. This made such a pretty thank you card and I was able to write a personalized note for each person.
This was such a fun little project that many people were able to enjoy.
