What do you do to de-stress from the craziness of recent years? How do you relax after a busy aggravating day at work, or experiencing the covid pandemic and all that comes with it, or even the wild current events that saturate our politics and news worldwide?

If you are like me, sometimes I play games on electronic devices, read a good book, or catch a television program or two but I am often not satisfied with those options. I want something creative yet not demanding.

It has to

  • be fun
  • be related to art
  • be mobile
  • be relaxing
  • be easy
  • not take a lot of time to learn or do
  • not be expensive
  • be quiet so not to interfere with those family members that are watching television or reading
  • allow me to pick it up or put it down at any time during the process
  • allow me do it around family and friends yet still be engaged with them

I found two things that fit into my requirements and helped me relax and enjoy my downtime. One is coloring which I will talk about inTangle with Victoria Lynn samples another post, the other is the Zentangle® method of drawing.

The Zentangle method is a meditative art form that requires no prior knowledge or experience to be successful. It met all my requirements and more.

I enjoy tangling so much that I became a CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher). This means I have been trained to instruct by Rick and Maria, the founder of the Zentangle Method. I have attended many trainings provided by other CZT’s increasing my inventory of different methods I can teach and show.

Throughout the year I will post content on several different social media platforms. You will be able to find all my free content on my blog. The website is createwithvictorialynn.com. I have a special area titled In the Art Room and there you will find Tangle.

I enjoy teaching, especially to those who want to learn and have fun.

    • Sometime in 2021 I will launch a beginner’s class for Tangle with Victoria Lynn. (Most likely early 2022 due to upcoming holidays)
    • My first major event will be a zoom class in July, Christmas Tangle with Victoria Lynn. We will tangle Christmas Ornaments that you can hang on your tree or create beautiful handmade gifts for others to enjoy.
    • I also enjoy teaching at your various events like birthdays, artsy night’s out or just a de-stressing get together. I can do this in person (my local area) or via zoom (local and long distance). Contact me for more information or questions.
